Other Faculty Record Issues

This section provides answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about other faculty record issues. If you don't find the answer to your CCLP question, try putting a keyword or phrase into the Search CCLP field (in the upper right corner) and press Return, or you can submit an idea for a FAQ.

Q: Does the Faculty Status Value Affect the Ability to Select an Instructor for Scheduling?
A:
Faculty who have a status value of Hired or Pending will be listed in the CruzID dropdown on the Instructors tabbed area of Sched Dev provided that the instructor is associated with the department and subject that you are logged in to the CCLP with. Faculty with an Inactive status are not eligible to be assigned to Sched Dev records.

Q: I have a faculty member who cannot access Canvas.
A: Please note that in order for a new instructor to be able to access Canvas, it is imperative for the HR person to set up the faculty member in DivData with their birthdate and the last four digits of their social security number.

Q: What faculty category and subcategory do I select for a Graduate Student Instructor?
A: To create a faculty record for a Graduate Student Instructor, use the Temp faculty category and the Associate-In faculty subcategory.

Q: I Have Temp Selected as the Faculty Category and I Don't See LecSOE as an Option Under Sub-Category.
A:
The LecSOE option is a Faculty Category option (not a Sub-Category option).

Q: In the Subjects Area of the faculty record, what does it mean when In AIS is checked or unchecked?
A: The In AIS checkbox is set automatically and cannot be set by users. If it is not checked, then the Office of the Registrar does not consider the faculty member to be associated with that department and subject. Contact the Classroom Scheduling Team if you believe the faculty membershould have the In AIS checkbox checked for that department and subject.
